Our Aim

Our love for olives, and our commitment to follow the strictest quality standards, as far as health and safety, place high demands both to us and to our staff.

As a result, we invest in buildings and machinery but also in management systems in order to respond successfully to the most demanding markets, offering high quality products and services. The packaging of our products is always an absolute criterion to maintain the authenticity and naturalness, and it is also done with respect to modern health and safety requirements.

Our Philosophy

Under the name of Amalthia and under its current legal entity was established in 1980 and since then it is operating and developing, based on a main principle; the respect to tradition combined with the adoption of modern practices and infrastructure.

Our productive model stands out as we continue to use traditional recipes to produce our products, resulting in authentic and recognized culinary options. At the same time the production process is enriched with all those modern infrastructure in mechanical and building equipment as well as in qualified personnel and so we are able to guarantee excellent and flawless positioning of the products, even in the most demanding markets in the world but also we can guarantee about their quality as we implement the most contemporary quality standards. Our ultimate goal is satisfying the consumers’ needs, their protection but also the recognition and establishment of our products.

The same reasoning governs even the administrative operation of the business. The faith in the family history of the company, the continuation of the tradition dictating respect to the product, the producer-supplier but also the customer – consumer, the worker and the environment are the main features of the Management Approach of our company. At the same time, however, technology, science and the modern perception of “doing business” find our business, as the strongest attraction. It is a conscious choice and longitudinal applied practice that a percentage of company revenues should be reinvested in the business to modernize its infrastructure on an annual basis.

Now in the second generation of business, our faith in the above business model is reinforced, as the outcome proved it to be quite successful, giving on an annual basis a solid growth even in times of economic crisis. Finally, as regards the future, what we can assure is that the 3rd generation of the business, which is now growing and getting ready will inherit the same principles of thinking and acting in order to undertake and continue doing business following the same philosophy and we are optimistic that they will all be worthy successors.

Traceability

Traceability for product safety and quality is becoming a necessary part of doing business. Good product tracing systems help minimize the production and distribution of unsafe or poor quality products, thereby minimizing the potential for bad publicity, liability, and recalls. Traceability system ensures the unique dyadic relationship identity-file and provides the data for the two main types of traceability:

Forward (Downstream) Traceability

Starting from a given batch of table olives (lot) we can identify all the products made from it, and the recipients or from a lot of packaging materials auxiliaries we find all the products in which these materials are used.

Backward (Upstream) Traceability

Knowing the batch of the final product (lot) we can trace the raw materials used, packaging materials and auxiliary materials and production conditions.

By ensuring the traceability system production is normalised, all stages of production are programmed and controlled and all data recorded.

The traceability system applied by our company is based on the standard ISO 22005:2007.

Quality checks are conducted at every stage of processing of the olives, and are inextricably linked to the identity of the batch of the samples used for testing.
